Frequently asked questions

1

Who is this course designed for?

Kids Python Coding Adventure is designed for children aged 8 to 14 who are taking their very first steps in coding. No prior experience whatsoever is needed just enthusiasm and a willingness to experiment.

2

My child is quite young (89). Is Python really appropriate at that age?

Yes. The course is designed with younger learners in mind. Concepts are introduced through stories, games, and visual results not abstract theory. Our youngest students consistently surprise themselves with what they build by the end of the course.

3

What will my child create?

Over 6 modules, your child will write Python programs that take input, make decisions, and repeat actions. The final session is a complete project a game or interactive story entirely designed by your child which they present to the group.

4

How are the sessions conducted?

Sessions are 1 hour each, live and instructor-led online, over 6 weeks with 12 sessions in total. Sessions are kept short and focused specifically for younger learners.

5

What support is included?

After every session your child receives an EngagePro coding mission a short, fun challenge that feels like a game, not homework. All missions are reviewed by Ravi Kumar with encouraging, personalised feedback. Monthly ITLearnner Kids Coding Challenge entries are open to all enrolled students.

6

What equipment does my child need?

A computer with internet access and the ability to install Python. Setup is guided at the start of the first session.

7

How do you keep younger children focused for a full hour?

Every session is structured as a sequence of short activities, each producing a visible result. Children see their program work print a message, make a decision, run a loop within minutes of starting. This instant feedback loop keeps them engaged and keen to see what happens next.

8

What happens if my child misses a session?

We arrange rescheduling so your child does not miss any content. Given the progressive structure, catching up before the next session is easy with a brief one-to-one top-up.

9

Will my child receive a certificate?

Yes. On completing the course, your child receives the ITLearnner Kids Python Explorer Certificate, which they can share with family and include in school portfolios.

10

What can my child do after this course?

After Kids Python Coding Adventure, your child is ready to progress to Python for Kids Foundation our full 10-module beginner course or to Java Coding Essentials for Kids if they want to explore a different language. The skills they build here are a genuine foundation for any coding path.
