What this course is about
Agile Scrum Master Fundamentals is a structured, instructor-led programme for IT professionals who want real sprint facilitation skills, not just Agile theory. The course covers Scrum roles, sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives in depth, combining conceptual grounding with simulated team exercises throughout every session.
The programme runs across 12 one-and-a-half-hour live sessions over 6 weeks, progressing through Agile principles and the Scrum framework, and Scrum roles before finishing with sprint planning, backlog management, user stories, agile estimation, and PSM I exam preparation. Every ceremony is practised in a simulated team context, not just described.
No Scrum certification or prior Agile training is required, though some exposure to a software development environment is assumed throughout the course. A full sprint cycle is simulated from session one so learners are facilitating real ceremonies throughout, not just reading about them.

Learn the Agile Manifesto, its 12 principles, and the Scrum framework structure and apply that understanding by mapping your current or target team’s working practices against the Scrum values in a facilitated sprint exercise.

Scrum Roles and Responsibilities
Learn the three Scrum roles Product Owner, Scrum Master, and Developers their accountabilities and authority, and apply that understanding by analysing real dysfunction scenarios and identifying the root cause.

Sprint Planning and Backlog Management
Learn sprint planning structure Sprint Goal formulation, Product Backlog ordering, and team capacity planning and apply them to facilitate a live sprint planning session within the cohort simulation.

User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
Learn User Story writing and acceptance criteria definition the INVEST criteria, Given/When/Then format, and Definition of Done and apply them to write stories and criteria a developer can implement and a QA can test.

Agile Estimation and Sprint Ceremonies
Learn Agile estimation techniques story points, planning poker, and T-shirt sizing and apply them to estimate a real backlog and facilitate standup, review, and retrospective ceremonies in the cohort simulation.

PSM I Exam Preparation
Learn the PSM I assessment structure scenario-based questions, the Scrum Guide alignment, and common misconception traps and apply that preparation through timed practice assessments reviewed answer by answer.
