Learning Objective
By the end of this course, you will be able to
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- explain what Python is and describe two real-world examples of where programming is used
- identify the key Python building blocks including variables, data types, user input, and output
- apply conditions, loops, and functions to build programs that make decisions and automate repeated tasks
- build a complete Python application across five camp days that includes user input, logic, and functions
- run their program at each stage of development, read the output, and check whether it behaves as expected
- debug common Python errors by reading error messages and correcting problems independently
- create and present a finished Python project to an audience on the final day of camp
Target learners
Who this course is for
Children aged 10 to 16 looking for a productive school holiday coding activity
Beginners who want to try Python in a short, focused format
Young learners who have been curious about coding but have not started yet
Students who want to write and run Python programs in a real coding environment
Learners who want to practise variables, user input,
if/elselogic, loops, and functionsYoung coders who want to build and present a finished Python project
Prerequisites
What you need
No previous coding experience is required — Day 1 starts from scratch.
- Learners should be aged 10 to 16.
- A computer that allows software installation and has internet access is required.
- Python setup is guided on Day 1 so no preparation is needed in advance.
- Learners should be ready to focus, build, and experiment across all five camp days.
Course Overview
What this course is about
Five days. One language. Real programs.
This camp takes young coders from their first Python variable to a complete project presented to family and friendsacross five focused, energetic days designed to make programming feel achievable and genuinely exciting.
They don't just follow along. They build their own program step by step, and present it live on Day 5.
At ITLearnner, we keep learning clear, engaging, and practical. Every camp day is crafted to spark curiosity, build momentum, and leave young coders wanting more.
Curriculum
Day 1
Meet Python
Install it. Run it. Make it talk back your first program, your first conversation with a computer
Day 2
Variables and Numbers
Data is everything learn how Python stores it, names it, and works with it, then build a mini calculator
Day 3
Logic Quest
If this, then that decisions are what separate programs that run from programs that think
Day 4
Loop-a-Thon
Computers never get tired of repetition and neither will your code
Day 5
Project Day Camp Showcase
Plan it. Build it. Present it at the live Camp Showcase. A complete Python program entirely theirs to keep

Frequently asked questions
1
Who is this camp designed for?
Python Holiday Camp is designed for children aged 10 to 16 who have no prior coding experience and want to learn something genuinely useful during the school holidays. It is also suitable for children who have tried coding apps but want to build something real with proper guidance.
2
Will five days be enough for my child to actually learn Python?
Yes the camp is designed specifically for rapid learning. Every day builds directly on the previous one. By Day 5, your child writes, runs, and presents a complete Python program. Five days of focused, mentor-led coding produces more real learning than months of self-paced apps.
3
What will my child build over the five days?
Your child will set up a Python environment, learn to use variables, make programs that make decisions (if/else), automate repetition (loops), and write functions. On Day 5 Project Day they build and present a complete interactive Python program at the live Camp Showcase.
4
How are the camp sessions conducted?
Sessions are two hours each, live and online, with a maximum of 8 learners per instructor. This small group size ensures every child is seen, supported, and actively participating not just watching.
5
What support does my child receive during and after the camp?
After each day, your child receives a daily EngagePro coding challenge and a quick reference card covering what they learned. All challenge submissions are reviewed by Ravi Kumar before the next day begins. A parent progress update is sent at the end of every session.
6
What equipment does my child need?
A computer with internet access and the ability to install Python. We guide your child through setup on Day 1, so there is nothing for parents to prepare in advance.
7
How do you keep children focused and engaged for two hours each day?
The camp is structured in short, goal-driven segments. Every hour something new is built. There is a specific challenge to complete each day, and the anticipation of the Day 5 Camp Showcase gives children a clear, exciting goal to work towards throughout the week.
8
What happens if my child misses a day?
We will arrange an alternative session or provide catch-up support so your child can rejoin the camp without falling behind. Given the intensive structure, we recommend discussing any planned absences in advance.
9
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes. Every child who completes the camp receives the ITLearnner Python Holiday Camp Certificate and is automatically eligible to enter the monthly ITLearnner Kids Coding Challenge for the three months following the camp.
10
Is this appropriate for children who have already done some coding?
Yes. Children with some prior coding experience move faster through the early days and are challenged with more ambitious projects on Days 4 and 5. The mentor adjusts the depth of each session based on the group's ability.
