Course Overview :
What this course is about
Does it hold up under pressure? You'll know.
This course takes you from performance testing awareness to professional load test design - through JMeter thread groups, parameterisation, assertion strategies, and results analysis applied to real application environments.
You won't just run simulations. You'll design complete performance test plans, identify bottlenecks, and integrate JMeter into a Jenkins pipeline that reflects real-world delivery.
At ITLearnner, we focus on clarity, structure, and confidence. Every session adds a specialist capability that sets senior QA engineers apart.
Learning Objective :
By the end of this course, you will be able to
By the end, you can.
- Build a JMeter test plan targeting a real web application
- Configure thread groups, ramp-up, and think times to simulate real traffic
- Use assertions to validate server responses under load
- Analyse JMeter reports to identify bottlenecks and failure points
- Integrate JMeter into a Jenkins CI pipeline for automated performance testing
Who this course is for :
Target Audience
Who this course is for
Target audience
For QA engineers ready to stop ignoring performance and start owning it as a specialist skill.
- Manual and automation QA engineers expanding into performance testing who want to design complete load test plans not just run default simulations.
- Career starters targeting specialist QA or DevOps roles who want a skill that commands stronger salaries and sets them apart from generalist testers.
- DevOps engineers who need to integrate performance gates into CI/CD pipelines and report results that engineering teams can act on.
If you see yourself in one of these, this course is built for you.
What you need :

Frequently asked questions
1
Who is this course designed for?
This course is designed for manual and automation QA engineers expanding into performance testing, career starters targeting specialist QA roles, and DevOps engineers who need to own performance test execution.
2
What prior experience do I need?
Basic QA or testing knowledge and an understanding of HTTP requests and web applications.
3
What will I be able to do by the end?
You will be able to build a JMeter test plan, configure thread groups and ramp-up, use assertions to validate responses under load, analyse performance reports to identify bottlenecks, and integrate JMeter into a Jenkins CI pipeline.
4
How are the sessions structured?
Six modules, 2.5 hours per session, six sessions over six weeks.
5
What is EngagePro?
JMeter test plan element references, bottleneck analysis templates, and CI/CD configuration guides per session. Each task involves building a JMeter test plan section targeting a specific performance scenario. Ravi Kumar reviews all submissions with performance analysis quality feedback.
6
What tools do I need?
A laptop with Java and JMeter installed. Both are free to download.
7
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes the ITLearnner JMeter Load Testing Certificate on completing the course.
8
Do I need Java experience to use JMeter?
JMeter is a Java application but you do not need to write Java code to use it effectively. The tool has a graphical interface for building and running load tests, and the course covers scripting within JMeter's own DSL for parameterisation and custom logic. Some basic understanding of how web applications work is helpful, but prior Java coding experience is not required.
9
What types of performance tests does this course cover?
The course covers load testing, stress testing, spike testing, and endurance testing — the four main performance test types used in professional QA. You will understand when each type is appropriate, how to design realistic test scenarios, and how to interpret results including response time distributions, error rates, and throughput metrics.
10
How does JMeter integrate with CI/CD pipelines?
The course covers running JMeter tests from the command line and integrating with CI tools including Jenkins and GitHub Actions. You will learn how to generate automated performance reports, set pass/fail thresholds on key metrics, and trigger alerts when performance degrades. This CI/CD integration is a key skill for teams practising continuous performance testing.
