Frequently asked questions
1
Who is this course designed for?
HTML and CSS Web Design for Kids is designed for children aged 10 to 16 who are curious about how websites are made. No prior experience is needed we start from the very first line of HTML and build a complete personal website by the final session.
2
My child is more creative than technical. Is this the right course?
Absolutely. HTML and CSS sit exactly at the intersection of creativity and logic. Your child chooses the colours, layout, and content of their website and the code is the tool that brings their creative vision to life. Many of our most enthusiastic learners come from creative backgrounds.
3
What will my child actually build?
Over 6 modules, your child builds a complete multi-page personal website with a navigation bar, styled content, images, and a layout that works on both desktop and mobile. By the final session they have a real website they can share with family and friends.
4
How are the sessions conducted?
Sessions are 2 hours each, live and instructor-led online, over 6 weeks with 6 total sessions. The group is small so your child receives individual attention throughout.
5
What support is included?
Each module has an EngagePro page-building task that adds a new component to your child's final website. These tasks are reviewed with feedback by the course instructor. There is also a monthly ITLearnner Kids Web Design Challenge that all enrolled students can enter.
6
What does my child need to get started?
A computer with a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) and VS Code installed. Both are free. No paid software is required.
7
Will my child understand what the code is actually doing?
Yes this is the most important thing we teach. Your child will not just copy-paste HTML. They will understand what every tag and property does and why it produces the result they see. This understanding means they can adapt and extend their website independently.
8
What happens if my child misses a session?
We offer rescheduling for missed sessions. Because each session adds a specific section to the website project, we make sure no child falls behind before progressing.
9
Will my child receive a certificate?
Yes. On completing the course, your child receives the ITLearnner HTML and CSS Web Design Certificate, which evidences real, practical web design skills.
10
What comes after HTML and CSS?
JavaScript is the natural next step. JavaScript takes a static website and makes it interactive responding to clicks, displaying dynamic content, and bringing pages to life. ITLearnner offers a dedicated JavaScript Web Development course for kids that builds directly on this one.
